Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability: I understand that participating in the MHK Chili Showdown Pepper Eating Contest involves consuming extremely spicy peppers that may cause personal injury, burns, choking, allergic reactions, or other medical issues. I knowingly accept these risks and voluntarily participate. I release the event organizers, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers from any liability for injuries, illness or damages arising from my participation.

Eligibility and Health: I affirm that I am at least 18 years of age, not pregnant or nursing, and do not have any medical conditions that could be worsened by eating spicy foods. I will not participate if I have allergies to peppers or any ingredients used in the contest. I acknowledge that I have consulted a physician as needed and am physically able to participate.

Rules and Conduct: I agree to follow all contest rules and instructions from staff. I understand that if I cannot continue or show signs of distress, I may be disqualified or asked to stop for my safety. I consent to immediate medical attention if deemed necessary by event staff or medical personnel.

Medical Consent: I authorize the event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am incapacitated, and I agree to be solely responsible for any related costs.

Media Release: I grant permission for my likeness, name, voice, and image to be recorded and used in any media, advertising, or promotional materials without compensation.

Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the MHK Chili Showdown, its sponsors, affiliates, vendors, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of my participation in the contest.

Governing Law: This waiver shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kansas and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Riley County, Kansas.
